LUKA JELUŠIĆ

I am a designer and landscape architect

focusing on collaborative art projects and collective building practices within design and architecture. I believe design is not complete without the act of making. My work spans from objects as storytellers and exhibition design to community participatory design/build projects that aim to empower and connect people through the act of making together. Design/build projects enable participants to create collaborative stories and narratives embedded in production of space, and in this way I see community building as a social, physical and spiritual art. Architecture ceases to be just a framework for the social events and becomes one of protagonists.

For the projects listed in my CV, I took part in instigating, organising, funding and managing to completion. They can take a span of several years and include collaboration of up to 50 people to achieve the desired outcome. To share the knowledge, I have also been organising yearly seminars "On Building Small Communities”.

As a designer/maker of furniture, I operate in the field that connects design, craft and cultural background, and I have a rich experience in projects that include collaboration of many actors. I started making comissioned furniture in 2009 and have been running a small craft-devoted gallery from 2010-2012. My work was exhibited at exhibitions and design fairs in Göteborg, Helsinki, Milan, Stockholm and Zagreb. I am currently operating my own design/make practice in rural Dalsland, Sweden.
